Blue Ribbon Award (Railway)
The Blue Ribbon Award ( Japanese ブ ル ー リ ボ ン 賞 , Burū Ribon Shō ) is a prize awarded annually since 1958 by the Japanese Association of Railway Friends. It is awarded to rail vehicles that were put into operation in the previous year. The award is given to a car with an outstanding design.
plaque
The award-winning rail vehicles receive a sticker that is attached to the outside of the vehicle. The first badge had a narrow design in landscape format. When the “Laurel Prize” was established in 1961, Yasuyoshi Kuroiwa designed a new round badge that matches the design of the plaque for the Laurel Prize.
