The Bluff River is a river in the east of the Australian state of Tasmania .

River course

The river has its source on the northern slopes of Baldy Hill in the Buckland Military Training Area , around 58 kilometers northeast of Hobart . From there it flows through unpopulated land first to the west to the border of the military training area and then turns its course to the south. About two kilometers north of Buckland it turns east and flows into the Prosser River about three kilometers east of the settlement on the Tasman Highway (A3) .
