Blume is a residential area in the northeast of the Bergisch city of Remscheid in North Rhine-Westphalia.

history

For centuries, “An derr Bloum” has been the Low German name for the residential area that leads to Obergarschagen as a street of the same name . A gardener is said to have lived here in 1764. The name at that time was "Blumerhauß" - a year later the spelling was changed to "Blumenhauß".

In old documents about the land survey in the Lüttringhausen area there is an entry that the "Wirthshaus in der Blume, Thürschwelle" was measured at a height of 1014.1 Parisian feet (above sea level). This corresponds to a height of 330 meters based on the “Parisian foot” measure used in the 19th century, along with other units, at 0.325 m.

In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen . In 1815/16 twelve people lived in the village. 1832 was one flower to the villages of the narrower Lenneper municipality within the mayoralty Lennep . The place, which was categorized as a day laborer's apartment according to the statistics and topography of the administrative district of Düsseldorf , owned a residential building at that time. At that time, 16 residents lived in the village, all of whom were Protestant.

In the parish dictionary for the Rhineland province , two houses with 20 inhabitants are given for 1885. On October 30, 1891, the flower was ceded by the Lennep mayor to the Lüttringhausen mayor . In 1895 the place had a house with eleven inhabitants, in 1905 five houses and 38 inhabitants. At that time the place belonged to the mayor's office of Lüttringhausen within the Lennep district .

The urban bus route 654 serves the residential area. The Lennep junction of federal motorway 1 is in Ort. State road 58 runs through Blume.
