Bernard Gijlswijk
Bernard Adriaan Gijlswijk OP (born November 9, 1870 in Delft , Netherlands , † December 22, 1944 ) was a Roman Catholic Archbishop and diplomat of the Holy See .
Life
Bernard Gijlswijk joined the religious order of the Dominicans at and received on 15 August 1898, the sacrament of Holy Orders .
On December 2, 1922, Pope Pius XI appointed him . the Titular Archbishop of Euchaitae and ordered him to apostolic delegate in South Africa . The Prefect of the Congregation De Propaganda Fide , Cardinal Wilhelmus Marinus van Rossum CSsR , donated him episcopal ordination on December 8th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Secretary of the Congregation De Propaganda Fide , Archbishop Pietro Fumasoni Biondi , and the Apostolic Delegate in Persia , Archbishop Adriaan Smets .
