Blumenavia rhacodes is a type of mushroom from the family of the stinkhorn relatives (Phallaceae).
features
Initially, Blumenavia rhacodes appears in the form of a cream-colored to gray-brown witch's egg that is 3.5 × 3 cm in size. When ripe, the witch's egg opens and the light orange to yellow receptacle stretches out, which is 8.5–13 × 8 cm in size and is composed of 3–6 columns. The pillars are fused into an arch in the upper area of the fruiting body and lie freely in the volva at their base . A furrow runs along the outside of the pillars, which are triangular to trapezoidal in cross-section. The malodorous spore mass ( gleba ) is located on special spore slime structures, the so-called "glebiferen", which cover the entire inner surface of the columns.
The spores are 3–4 × 1–1.5 µm in size.
