Floor Hanson

Boden "Bo" Joseph Hansen (born August 7, 1973 in Port Kembla ) is a former Australian rower and three-time Olympic medalist.

Athletic career

The 1.99 m tall Hanson won a silver medal at the Junior World Championships in 1991 in a four without a helmsman . In 1992 he participated as a member of the Australian eighth at the Olympic Games in Barcelona and finished fifth. The following year he rowed eighth to fourth place at the 1993 World Championships .

In 1994 Hanson switched to scull rowing . With the double quad , he reached fourth place at the 1994 World Championships and eighth place in 1995 . In 1996 he won the bronze medal behind the boats from Germany and the United States at the Olympic Games in Atlanta together with Janusz Hooker , Duncan Free and Ronald Snook .

After a year off, Hanson returned to oar rowing in 1998 as a member of the Australian four-man star . At the 1998 World Championships , he finished fourth. The following year, Ben Dodwell , Geoffrey Stewart , Boden Hanson and James Stewart won the silver medal at the 1999 World Championships behind the British foursome and ahead of the Italians. At the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, the British won ahead of the Italians, with Stewart, Dodwell, Stewart and Hanson taking bronze medals behind them. Four years later, Hanson competed in the Athens Olympics with the Australian eighth and won his third Olympic bronze medal.
