Bob LaLonde

Robert F. "Bob" LaLonde (* 1. December 1922 in Bay City , Michigan ; † 11. November 2015 ) was an American politician of the Republican Party .

Life

LaLonde attended Midland High School in Midland , Michigan, graduating from there in 1941. In 1944, LaLonde, who had been fascinated by flying from an early age, volunteered for the United States Army Air Forces cadet program . During his 37 years in active service, most recently as a Colonel , he was used in World War II , the Korean War and the Vietnam War and completed 30,000 flight hours . In the 1960s he studied at the University of Nebraska Omaha in Omaha , where he graduated in 1965.

He later became a county commissioner and worked as an airport manager at Jackson Hole Airport . From 1989 to 1994 he represented the 17th Senate District in the Wyoming Senate .

LaLonde was married and had a daughter.
