Bobby Chacon
Bobby Chacon (born November 28, 1951 in Los Angeles , California , † September 7, 2016 in Hemet , California) was an American boxer and both WBC world champion in featherweight and super featherweight .
Career
He won his first six fights all by classic knockout. He was also able to make his next 13 fights victorious, most of them were also knockout victories. In his 20th fight he lost prematurely against Rubén Olivares for the vacant North American featherweight championship.
On May 24, 1974, he boxed against Alfredo Marcano for the vacant WBC World Championship and won by technical knockout. He then defended this belt against Jesus Estrada and lost it to Rubén Olivares, who had already defeated him.
On December 11, 1982, he secured the world championship of the WBC association in super featherweight when he unanimously defeated Rafael Limón on points.
Chacon retired in 1988 and was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2005 .

Bobby Chacon died on September 7, 2016 of complications from a head injury after falling in a nursing home in Lake Elsinore , California. He had suffered from CTE since the 1990s and was therefore in long-term care.
