The Bockwitz nature reserve is located in the area of the towns of Borna , Frohburg and Kitzscher in the Leipzig district in Saxony . The nature reserve with the largest part of the Bockwitzer See and the remaining hole Südkippe extends east of the core city of Borna. The S 176 runs on the northeastern edge of the area, the A 72 runs to the west and flows the Wyhra . The B 176 and S 242 run to the east .
meaning
The 545.4 hectare area with the NSG no. L 60 was placed under nature protection in 1999. The protected area is part of the mining landscape of the former lignite open pit Borna-Ost / Bockwitz and comprises a complex of opencast mining holes , in which through groundwater rebound Still waters have arisen.
