description

The nature reserve includes the valley areas of the Schanzenbach and its tributaries in the area southeast of Leisnig to the confluence with the Freiberg Mulde . The steep valleys are cut 30 to 50 meters into the landscape and are mostly forested. These are valuable hardwood forests, such as Example: ravine forests, oak-hornbeam slope forests and Bachau valleys. The Schanzenbach and its tributaries appear as near-natural bodies of water.
