Around the Rochsburg is a nature reserve (NSG) in the district of central Saxony in Saxony . The 259.6 hectare area in the municipalities of Burgstädt, Lunzenau and Penig bears the NSG no. C 01. It lies to the south and east of the Rochsburg location and includes the slopes of the Zwickauer Mulde and the Brausebachtal.
The original nature reserve (143.6 ha) was established by order of the Ministry of Agriculture, Registration and Forestry (MfLEF) of March 30, 1961 (Journal of Laws of the GDR, p. 166) and transferred in accordance with Section 51 of the SächsNatSchG . With the ordinance of the Central Saxony District Office of February 15, 2019 (SächsGVBl. P. 257) it was expanded to its current size.
