The Bodenmühle (also Oppelmühle ) is a wasteland in the Rüdenhausen market in the Lower Franconian district of Kitzingen .

Geographical location

The Bodenmühle is located in the far northwest of the Rüdenhausen municipality at the confluence of the Heimbach and the Schirnbach . The municipality of Wiesentheid begins to the north . The market town itself is closest to the Bodenmühle. In the south, the federal motorway 3 runs past the wasteland, further to the south-east is Rüdenhausen. The district of Kleinlangheim begins in the southwest, while the district of Wiesentheider Feuerbach begins in the west .

history

The name of the floor mill goes back to a field name in the area. The fields in the “Im Boden” corridor were on a low-lying area to the right of the road to Feuerbach. The Bodenmühle was built here in 1548. Its builder is Michael Schleuser, who had the mill built as a fiefdom for the Counts of Castell . Around 1580 the mill was owned by Michael Oppel and was therefore also called Oppelmühle. Today the mill is closed, the weir is still intact and the Bodenmühle is a wasteland on the Rüdenhäuser district.
