Bodo Maria
Bodo Maria (born December 25, 1943 in Kiel as Bodo Schäfer) is a German singer of folk music and hits , composer and songwriter .
Life
His father Hermann Schäfer was music director at the Stadttheater in Kiel. In his earliest youth he took singing lessons from his father. After finishing school, Schäfer went to the German Navy from 1961 to 1965 , where he trained as a radio operator. He was there with the 2nd speed boat squadron "Boot Greif" in Wilhelmshaven and the 3rd speed boat squadron "Boot Luchs" in Flensburg .
From 1965 to 1966 he studied organization and programming with exams at the German Employees Academy in Düsseldorf (DAA). From 1966 to 1969 he worked as a programmer at Polenzky and Zöllner and the Divo Institute in Frankfurt a. M. From 1969 to 1970 he was the organizer and sales manager at MDV paper finishing in Aschaffenburg. 1970 to 1971 he was managing director of the Computer-Ring-Rhein-Main in Frankfurt a. M. In 1971, he graduated as a state-certified business economist at the evening academy for business economists in Aschaffenburg. From 1972 to 1977 he was sales manager and member of the executive board of Interscan in Mörfelden-Walldorf, from 1977 to 1982 management consultant and from 1982 to 2002 managing partner of ofd Computersysteme in Egelsbach. Bodo Schäfer was President of the Offenbach-Lederstadt Lions Club from 1995–1996.
Bodo Maria lived temporarily in Travemünde and Timmendorfer Strand. He has lived in Alsbach, Hesse, since 2016.
Artistic activities
In 1992 he was the producer and actor James in a version of the sketch Dinner for one with Macha Stein. The location of the performance was the Festhalle Frankfurt a. M. From 2007 to 2009 he worked as a soloist and lead singer of the shanty choir Timmendorfer Strand . Since 2009 he has been a producer and singer of folk music songs, shanties and pop hits. The composer is predominantly Christian Bruhn , Bodo Maria wrote his own compositions such as Schiffsgeruch . Until 2016 he had regular appearances as a singer in Schleswig-Holstein, for example in Travemünde, Timmendorfer Strand and Lübeck. In order to preserve the Heilig-Geist-Kirche Heppenheim he gave a Christmas concert there on the 3rd Advent 2018 and the Russian Sounds concert on March 10th 2019 .
