Bodo Winsel (* 1806 in Hanau ; † November 3, 1865 in Munich ) was a German portrait and miniature painter and photographer .

Life

Bodo Winsel studied at the Academy of Drawing in Hanau with Conrad Westermayr and continued his studies in history painting at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich on October 22, 1827 .

After completing his studies, he worked as a portrait and miniature painter in Munich. With the advent of photography, he took portrait photos and ran a "photographic establishment" on Ottostraße. In 1867 this passed to Gustav Selch.

He was a member of the Munich "Society of Joy".
