The Borawli is an 812 m high stratovolcano in Ethiopia in the Danakil Depression of the Afar region immediately east of Lake Afrera , near the border with Eritrea .
The volcano, which originates from the Holocene , is located in one of the most seismically active zones on earth, the great African rift valley , and is part of the volcanic Tat-Ali chain .
