Boris Breskvar
Boris Breskvar (* 1942 ; † December 3, 2012 in Ljubljana ) was a Yugoslavian and Slovenian tennis coach and is considered the "discoverer" of Boris Becker , Steffi Graf and Anke Huber, among others .
Life
Boris Breskvar was the national trainer in the North Baden tennis center in Leimen , the tennis club Blau-Weiß 1964 Leimen . There he trained tennis players Boris Becker, Steffi Graf and later also Anke Huber in the 1970s.
Breskvar was Boris Becker's first coach, who was only six years old at the time. Becker later said about his time with Breskvar at the Leimen state performance center: “He was a very passionate trainer, very disciplined, tough, but fair. He is the trainer who discovered two German tennis stars, Steffi Graf and me. "
In 2005, Breskvar was diagnosed with brain tumors . In 2007 he had to undergo several brain operations, in which three tumors were removed. Most recently he suffered from Alzheimer's. Breskvar moved with his wife to Ljubljana, where his son Peter runs a tennis academy.
