Boris Ivanovsky
Boris Iwanowski ( Russian Борис Ивановский , scientific transliteration Boris Ivanovskij ; bl. 1920s and 1930s ) was a Russian racing car driver .
Career
Boris Ivanovsky was an officer in the life guard of Tsar Nicholas II . He had to leave his country after the outbreak of the Russian Revolution and went into exile in France . Ivanovsky, who came from a wealthy family, retained his Russian citizenship and began to drive car races in the 1920s.
1928 he won together with Attilio Marinoni on a Alfa Romeo 6C 1500S the Spa 24 Hours and 1929 the Grand Prix of Ireland . In 1931 he finished second overall in the Le Mans 24-hour race . Iwanowski used his private Mercedes-Benz SSK and shared the wheel with the Frenchman Henri Stoffel .
