Boris Schnuchel (born March 15, 1975 in Flensburg , Germany ) is a former Danish handball player . Schnuchel is mostly used on the left wing .

Career

society

The 1.80 m tall and 90 kg heavy right-handed player first played for the Danish club Over Jerstal. From 1997 he ran for KIF Kolding and the successor KIF Kolding København. With Kolding he won the Danish championship in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2009 and 2014 as well as the cup in 1999, 2002, 2005, 2007 and 2008. With 588 games in KIF's dress, he holds the club record. In the first final game in 2012/13 he suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament . He ended his career in September 2014.

Internationally, he reached the round of 16 of the EHF Champions League six times , once each in the quarter-finals (2002/03) and the semi-finals (2001/02). In the EHF Cup he made it to the quarter-finals in 2012/13, and in the European Cup Winners' Cup 1999/2000 to the semi-finals.

National team

Schnuchel made his debut in the Danish national team on September 1, 2000 against Spain . He won the bronze medal at the 2004 European Championships . At the 2005 World Cup , he ended up on a disappointing 13th place. However, he was always in the shadow of Nikolaj Jacobsen and Lars Christiansen . Schnuchel played 34 international matches , in which he scored 84 goals.
