The Borissowski rajon ( Russian Борисовский муниципальный район , Borissowski munizipalny rajon ) is a district of the Belgorod Oblast in Russia . It is located west of the oblast capital, Belgorod . The administrative center of the raion is the urban-type settlement Borisovka .

Geographical location

The Borissowski rajon is located in the western part of Belgorod Oblast. It borders in the north on the Rakitjanski rajon , in the east the Belgorodski rajon and the Jakowlewski rajon , in the south on the Ukraine and in the west on the Graiworonski rajon . The area of ​​the Borissowski rajon is 650 km². The Worskla flows through the Rajon from east to west , dividing it into two parts of different nature. To the north of the Worskla lies an area with an elevated and structured relief, with predominant gray forest soils and large forest massifs. To the south of the Worskla, there is a flat relief with predominant black earth soils and only a few forests.

The Rayon is in nine "municipal entities" ( муниципальное образование , munizipalnoje obrasowanije ) is divided, of which a municipality ( городское поселение , gorodskoje posselenije ) and eight rural communities ( сельское поселение , selskoje posselenije ).
