Born ( Limburgish Bor ) is a place and a former municipality in the Dutch province of Limburg and is now part of the municipality of Sittard-Geleen . In 1981 the Born parish was formed from the parish villages Born, Obbicht-Papenhoven and Grevenbicht . The population of the place is around 5,940 people.
The place is known nationwide because of the NedCar , the largest motor vehicle factory in the Netherlands. Among other things, the DAF 33 was built there. Another large industrial complex is the DSM . Born lies on the Julianakanal .
