Boso from Arles
Boso of Arles (also called Boso the Old ; † before 855 ) was Count of Arles and in Italy .
He is the progenitor of the bosonids and only appears in the annals because, in an agreement with Emperor Ludwig, he gave up property near Nijmegen in 826 and exchanged it for property at Vercelli in Italy.
In addition, he is known as the father-in-law of King Lothar II of Lotharingia , through a marriage that was only concluded after he had already died.
Boso the old had (at least) four children:
- Boso († 874/878) Count in Italy, ∞ Engiltrude of Orléans , daughter of Count Matfried I of Orléans
- Hugbert († 864 at Orbe ) Duke of Transjurania , Abbot of Saint-Maurice , 855 guardian of his sister Teutberga
