Juli, Nora and Beni's families were resettled in a small village in no man's land on the edge of a swamp during communist rule. In contemporary Albania, Juli works in her uncle Beni's Café Bota. She lives with her grandmother Noje and takes care of her. Nora, Juli's friend, becomes Beni's lover. Beni wants to expand the café and tries to attract new customers. The peaceful life of the protagonists ends with the expansion of the motorway near the village. One evening the villagers have a big party in Café Bota, but the next morning Juli, Nora and Beni have to face family secrets that are linked to dark chapters from the history of Albania.
