Botho Engelien

Botho Bernd Rüdiger Engelien (born July 1, 1938 on the Vorwerk Nonnenhof (from 1950 Russian: Gordejewo, no longer existent) of the Kanoten manor , from 1928 Posegnick , Gerdauen district ( East Prussia )) is a former German officer ( retired major general . ). Life

Botho Engelien joined the Bundeswehr in 1956 as an officer candidate in the air force and was trained as a pilot. When Reconnaissance Wing 52 Engelien worked as pilots and from November 1977 to June 1, 1978 as the commander of the flying group in use. Engelien was from 1982 to 1984 commodore of the fighter-bomber squadron 36 "Westphalia" (JaboG 36 "W") in Rheine and then head of department in the command staff of the air force in Bonn. In the rank of Colonel i. G. he became deputy commander of the 3rd Air Force Division in Kalkar in 1986 . In 1986 he was promoted to brigadier general. From 1992 to 1994 he was commander of the 4th Air Force Division in Aurich. From 1994 to 1998 he was head of the Air Force Office in Cologne-Wahn. Engelien is currently chairman of the Luftwaffe Circle of Friends .
