Boubacar Diarra (born July 15, 1979 in Bamako ) is a Malian football player .

Club career

Diarra started playing football at AS Real Bamako in Mali. At the age of 10 he moved to Djoliba AC Bamako .

At the age of eighteen he joined SC Freiburg in 1997 , with whom he was promoted to the Bundesliga in the following year . For Baden, he completed 228 games and scored two goals. For the 2007/08 season Diarra moved to 1. FC Kaiserslautern . After he only made three appearances in the first half of the season due to injuries, he moved to the Swiss club FC Luzern .

In the second half of the season Diarra immediately established himself as a regular player in central defense alongside Dušan Veškovac . Thanks to Diarra, the FCL's defense in the second half of the season (together with GC) was the best in the Super League and conceded only fifteen goals in eighteen games, compared to their 34 in the first half.

On March 11, 2010 it was announced that Diarra is moving to the Chinese first division club Liaoning Hongyun with immediate effect . After his contract in China expired, he returned to Mali and moved to AS Bamako. There he played until March 2013 and then moved to Union Sportive Bougouni, with whom he played the Coupe de la Confédération in 2013.
