The building at Bräugasse 2 (also called Winter'sches or Schwenkenbecher'sches Haus after previous owners ) in Nördlingen , a town in the Swabian district of Donau-Ries in Bavaria , was built in 1678. The residential building is a protected architectural monument .

history

The house was built for Nikolaus Kobelt († 1698), the son of a Nördlingen lodge weaver . Nikolaus Kobelt had studied law in Strasbourg and became an imperial notary in the imperial city of Nördlingen.

The three-storey half - timbered house with furnishings from the time it was built is decorated with an imperial eagle and scrollwork on the eastern corner post and is marked with the year "1678". The client's initials "NK" are also attached. The portal with tendrils and pomegranate motifs bears the motto “SOLI DEO GLORIA” (God alone deserves honor) and the year “1697” on the lintel. The corner structure and the facade structure corresponds to the time the house was built.

Inside, stucco and coffered ceilings and floor coverings from the late 17th century have been preserved, as are the doors to the rooms with their fittings and painted lining boards.
