The Brüder Mannesmann AG is a listed German tool and fittings dealer based in Remscheid , with nine subsidiaries .

Company history

After establishing several companies and companies in the 19th century (including Mannesmann ), Alfred Mannesmann and his brother Carl founded the Brüder Mannesmann GmbH in Remscheid on July 14, 1931, which initially produced forged and cast pipe clamps for water pipes . Later these were also used in the gas sector . In 1977 the company began trading tools and founded the subsidiary, Brüder Mannesmann Werkzeuge GmbH. After hand tools and do-it-yourself products were initially imported, technical articles and power tools were added later. In 1995 the Brüder Mannesmann GmbH was converted into a stock corporation; the IPO took place on June 3, 1996. In 1998 more than 2,000 people were employed for the first time. In the same year sales were around 500 million DM (around 260 million euros ). With the sale of Deutsche Armaturen AG in 2000, the number of employees and sales decreased significantly.

The company's shares were listed in the Prime Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange until March 21, 2012 and then switched to the General Standard . Today the company's shares are listed on the m: access of the Munich Stock Exchange .

The current administrative seat is the villa in Remscheid-Bliedinghausen , built between 1914 and 1916 .

The subsidiary, Brüder Mannesmann Werkzeuge GmbH, specializes in do-it-yourself , craft and industrial markets and employs around 80 people (as of 2008). Products are imported from all over the world and exported to over 70 countries . The range of the Brüder Mannesmann Werkzeuge GmbH amounts to over 8,000 articles in five different product lines .
