Lists on the subject |
The Brügger & Thomet APR is a family of sniper rifles developed and manufactured by the Swiss company Brügger & Thomet (B&T for short). The abbreviation stands for A dvanced P recision R ifle (German "progressive precision rifle").
history
After its founding in 1991, B&T mainly acted as a dealer for companies such as Heckler & Koch or Benelli and then began with the production of silencers . The company later hired itself out as a system integrator for various police and military customers. As such, weapons, telescopic sights and accessories from various manufacturers were assembled according to customer requirements and supplemented with an in-house silencer. This integration work often resulted in a far-reaching conversion of the weapon, some of which went so far that it would have been easier for B&T to build a new weapon, which ultimately led to the development of its own APR .
With the Advanced Precision Rifle, B&T developed a complete system based on the French PGM Précision series, which was specially developed for the tough use of the military and police. This includes a folding stock , magazine, adjustable trigger, ground spur and muzzle brake . Other accessories are also available.
- Rifle scope
B&T equips their APR with a rifle scope (ZF) from the German manufacturer Schmidt & Bender (S&B) as standard . S&B exclusively supplies a special version of the Police Marksman II series in the 3–12 × 50 version , which has a special reticle made for B&T and is “branded” by S&B for B&T .
Model variants
The APR manufactures a complete family of sniper rifles, which are available in different calibers, designs and also as a silenced version. In the Ukraine, the APR 308 and APR 338 are manufactured under license by Tactical Systems in Kiev.
