Brussels marathon
The Brussels Marathon (official name Brussels Marathon ) is a marathon that has been taking place in Brussels since 2004 . The program also includes a half marathon .
route
The course starts in the Jubelpark of Etterbeek and leads first over the Rue de la Loi / Wetstraat west to Brussels-City to the Palace of the Nation and the Royal Palace . Via the Avenue Loise, it goes south on a loop through the urban forest Bois de la Cambre / Ter Kamerenbos. Then you pass the Université Libre de Bruxelles in Ixelles / Elsene and walk through Watermael-Boitsfort / Watermaal-Bosvoorde , Auderghem / Oudergem and Woluwe-Saint-Pierre / Sint-Pieters-Woluwe , where the course divides. The half-marathon runners go directly via the avenue de Tervueren / Tervurenlaan and the rue de la Loi / Wetstraat to the finish on the Grand-Place (Grote Markt) , while the marathoners still have to complete a turning point stretch that runs eastwards to Tervuren .
The route is pretty wavy for a city marathon with about 200 meters of altitude .
