Brachstadt is a church village and part of the municipality of Tapfheim in the district of Donau-Ries in the administrative district of Swabia in Bavaria .
The Abtsholzerhof wasteland also belongs to the district .

Brachstadt with its district was an independent municipality in the district of Donauwörth and was added to the district of Donau-Ries on July 1, 1972 as part of the regional reform in Bavaria and incorporated into the municipality of Tapfheim.

The Protestant parish Sankt Maria Magdalena belongs to the deanery Donauwörth in the parish of Augsburg .
