Brad Edward Budde (* 9. May 1958 in Detroit , Michigan ) is a former American American football player . He played in the National Football League (NFL) with the Kansas City Chiefs .
Player career
College career
Brad Budde is the son of former NFL pro and Kansas City Chiefs player Ed Budde . He attended in Kansas City , the High School and studied after his graduation from 1976 to 1979 at the University of Southern California . Throughout his career he was used as a starter in the position of a guard . In 1978 he won the national championship with his college team . In all playing years, Budde and his team won all four bowl games . In 1979 Budde was voted All-American . He also received the Lombardi Award in the same year . The UPI press agency voted him line player of the year.
Professional career
Buddes was drafted 11th in the first round in 1980 by the Kansas City Chiefs . The team's head coach was Marv Levy . Levy and his successor John Mackovic did not manage to form a top team from the team. It wasn't until 1986 that Budde managed to move into the play-offs with the Chiefs . In the first round, however, the New York Jets had to be beaten by 35:15. After the 1986 season, Budde was fired by the Chiefs. He then suspended a year and then tried to get a professional contract with the Los Angeles Raiders . But he could no longer assert himself there.
Honors
Brad Budde was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1998 . In 2010, he was inducted into the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame .

Budde is married and has two children. Today he trains executives in business and lives in California .
