College Football Hall of Fame

The College Football Hall of Fame is the hall of fame for college football in the United States . It is located in Atlanta , Georgia . The Hall of Fame was founded in 1947 by the National Football Foundation (NFF), a non-profit organization that supports and promotes American college football.

Members

The Hall of Fame commemorates players and coaches who have made a name for themselves in college football . Football devotional items and portraits of the honored persons are exhibited. As of 2008, the Hall of Fame had 829 players and 178 coaches as members. The University of Notre Dame's football team, Notre Dame Fighting Irish , has the largest number of members at 42. This is followed by Michigan State University with 29 members and the University of Southern California with 28 members.

The 10,000 members of the NFF, which in turn is divided into 119 local groups, are entitled to vote. The final decision on admission to the Hall of Fame is made by an NFF selection committee.
