Brad Meltzer (born April 1, 1970 ) is an American novelist and comic book author .

Life and work

Meltzer grew up in Brooklyn , New York and later in South Florida , where he graduated from North Miami Beach Senior High School in 1988. After the completion of the University of Michigan lived Meltzer first in Beacon Hill, Boston - where he wrote his first novel - before becoming a successful second degree studies in Jurisprudence graduated from Columbia Law School.

In 1998 Meltzer published his first novel, "The Tenth Justice", which has been followed by seven more, some of which were so commercially successful that they made the New York Times bestseller list .

As a comic book writer, Meltzer wrote sixteen editions of the adventure series Green Arrow , the miniseries Identity Crisis (2004) and one year of the superhero series Justice League of America (2007). Identity Crisis sold very well, despite or because of the taboo topic "Cowardice in dealing with a serial rapist", so that, according to the Comics Alliance, the superheroes look "just as shabby" as the criminals themselves. Meltzer himself had to be criticized as a misogynist according to his own statements which he resolutely denies.

In addition, Meltzer was a co-creator of the television series Jack & Bobby , which was discontinued after only one season (2004-2005).

Meltzer, who is married to his childhood sweetheart Cori Flam and has two children, is currently living in South Florida again. He is working on his seventh novel and is writing several editions for the comic book adaptation of the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer published by Dark Horse.

In September 2006, Meltzer, along with representatives from the CIA , FBI , psychologists from various disciplines, and staff from the Department of Homeland Security, was a member of a working group that examined new methods terrorists could use in attacks on the United States.
