Bramwell Fletcher

Bramwell Fletcher (born February 20, 1904 in Bradford , England , † June 22, 1988 in Westmoreland , New Hampshire , USA ) was a British actor .

Life

After a short stint as an office messenger, Bramwell Flatcher began his acting career in the theater in the 1920s and made his debut on Broadway in 1929. The blond-haired actor had made his first film Chick a year earlier, directed by AV Bramble. In the next few decades he frequently commuted between Great Britain and the USA in his roles. He played in Svengali (1931) alongside John Barrymore and had a role as a young scientist in The Mummy (1932), where he fell victim to the eponymous character. Although Fletcher occasionally played leading roles, he was mostly limited to supporting roles in films such as Found Years (1942). He was rather critical of the Hollywood film industry , and he made his last film as early as 1943.

Subsequently, Fletcher was mainly seen on Broadway and from the 1950s on in television series such as Preston & Preston or Danger . He had his last appearance in 1967 in the television series The Secret of the Blue Crown . Bramwell Fletcher was married four times, the first three marriages were divorced: from 1935 to 1940 with actress Helen Chandler , from 1941 to 1946 with Diana Barrymore ; from 1950 with Susan Robinson (from this marriage there were three children) and from 1970 until his death in 1988 with Lael Tuckerwertebaker . He died in New Hampshire in 1988 at the age of 84.
