action

Lawrence Preston, a lawyer with over 20 years of professional experience, runs a law firm with his recently-graduated son, Kenneth. The defense lawyers face issues such as abortion , euthanasia and racism in their cases . This was controversial and quite unusual for the 1960s; However, it also proved to be extremely successful, which was also reflected in the numerous awards. The Museum of Broadcast Communications sees the series as a critical examination of contemporary issues, social morality, ethics and politics.

background

The prosecutors (and thus their actors) changed frequently. Ossie Davis , JD Cannon and William Shatner made several appearances . Guest stars included Martin Sheen , Leslie Nielsen , Dennis Hopper , Robert Duvall , Gene Hackman and Dustin Hoffman .
