Lawrence Preston, a lawyer with over 20 years of professional experience, runs a law firm with his recently-graduated son, Kenneth. The defense lawyers face issues such as abortion , euthanasia and racism in their cases . This was controversial and quite unusual for the 1960s; However, it also proved to be extremely successful, which was also reflected in the numerous awards.
