Brandon Vincent (born May 1, 1994 in Los Angeles , California ) is a retired American football player. The defender played for Chicago Fire in Major League Soccer from 2016 to 2018 .

Career

youth

From 2008 to 2012 Vincent played for the youth soccer teams of the Real So Cal Soccer Club. In 2012 he moved to Stanford University and played for the Stanford Cardinals. In his 80 games for the Cardinals, he scored three goals. He has been appointed to the NSCAA first-team All-American national team several times and received the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year award. In 2015 he won the national title with the team, the so-called NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship.

Chicago Fire

In the 2016 MLS SuperDraft , he was selected by Chicago Fire. He was previously elected by New York City FC , but they swapped him for Jack Harrison .

He made his debut on matchday one of the 2016 MLS season against New York City FC. In the 3: 4 defeat he was on the field for the full 90 minutes. In the league game against the Portland Timbers on July 6, 2017, he scored his first professional goal in a 2-2 draw. In November 2018, at the age of 24, Vincent surprisingly announced his retirement at the end of the season.

National team

On February 5, 2016, he made his debut for the United States national soccer team in a friendly against Canada . It was his only international match.
