Bratja Miladinowi (Burgas)

Bratja Miladinowi (also written Bratya Miladinovi , Bulgarian Братя Миладинови , to German Miladinowi brothers ) is a central district of the Bulgarian port city of Burgas and belongs to the core city . The district bears the name of the writers Brothers Miladinowi ( Dimitar Miladinow (1810–1862), Naum Miladinow (1817–1895) and Konstantin Miladinow (1830–1862)).

Bratja Miladinowi borders in the west with the boulevards Todor Aleksandrow and Struga on the industrial area north and the district of Slavykov . In the east, Bratja Miladinowi borders the Lasur district with the Demokracija boulevard . In the south, Bratja Miladinowi borders the city center and Wasrashdane districts with the Boulevard San Stefano .

In 1911, the Bugrasser merchant Alexandar Georgiew-Kodschakafalijata donated 600 pieces of land ranging in size from 180 to 300 m² for needy Bulgarian and Armenian refugees and the poor of the city, including Turks and Jews. Most of the Bulgarians were refugees from Eastern and Western Thrace ( Thracian Bulgarians ) and Macedonia ( Macedonian Bulgarians ). In addition to the land, Georgiev donated the funds for the construction of 600 family houses, for the necessary infrastructure, for the construction of the Sweti Ivan Rilski church. For this reason, the district is popularly known as the Kodschakafalija district to this day . The total amount of the donation from Georgiev was 25 million gold leva and is the highest donation made in Bulgaria to date.

The district today houses the Burgas Free University , the Tourism High School, the Architecture High School Kolju Fitscheto, the Technical High School, the Evening High School Wassil Aprilow, the Bratja Miladinowi Elementary School, the New Post Office, the Church of St. Ivan Rilskis , the Burgas TV Tower and the Burgas Velodrome .
