Bratko Bibič

Bratko Bibič (* 1957 in Ljubljana ) is a Slovenian accordionist .

Bibič, who studied philosophy and sociology , has performed as a musician since he was 17. He was first known in the field of rock music, playing in the 1980s in the bands Begnagrad and Nimal , both of which merged Slavic folk music with Art Rock : Begnarad toured Yugoslavia and Switzerland in the early 1980s and released their only LP in 1982; the 1987 founded international band Nimal , which included Tom Cora , Pippin Barnett, Momo Rossel and Jean-20 Huguenin, released two albums in the late 1980s; In 1991 it broke up.

Bibič was then active as a film and dance musician. In 1995 he released his debut album under his own name, Bratko Bibič and the Madleys of Bridko Bebič . The following year, Bibič joined the Accordion Tribe , an international group of accordionists led by Guy Klucevsek , Maria Kalaniemi, Lars Hollmer and Otto Lechner , who successfully toured Europe and North America and released three albums on Intuition . He also performed with his Madleys and in a duo with Otto Lechner, Matjaž Sekne, Shirley Anne Hofmann and Wädi Gysi ; he also worked with Martin Krpan and Ben Jeger in the orchestra .
