The Brautsee ( Danish : Brudesø ) is an inland lake in Schleswig-Holstein in the northeastern urban area of the city of Schleswig , east of the St. Jürgen district.

The name of the bridal lake is derived from a legend according to which a farmer's daughter resisted a forced marriage.

In the west (Seekamp) and north (Moldeniter Weg) the residential development extends very close (approx. 40 meters) to the shore. In the east (Pionierstrasse) and south (Johannistaler Weg) there are still agricultural areas. The street “Am Brautsee”, on the other hand, is a western parallel street of the Seekamp, further away from the lake.

The Brautsee is an association waters of the fishing club Schleswig, with stocking of pike , perch , eel , carp , tench , bream , silver bream , crucian carp and various other whitefish species .
