history
The origin of the village lies in two houses that were built at the end of the 18th century on the south bank of the largest Bohemian pond, Blato, and were first shown on the Josephine military map of 1790. At the same time, the settlement of Srbce consisted of 5 houses. Since the middle of the 19th century, after the Blato was drained, the settlement grew around a small field and on the Kaiserstraße from Podebrady to Gitschin to a village.
After the abolition of patrimonial Vokřínek formed from 1850 a district of the municipality Pátek in the Poděbrady district . In 1890 the population of Okřínek increased to 512, which is the highest in the history of the village. In the 1920s, Okřínek formed an independent municipality. In 1924 a primary school opened. On January 1, 1961, the community came to Okres Nymburk, at the same time Srbce was incorporated. In 1970 Senice was incorporated . In 1992 Senice broke up again.
