Velenka (German Welenka ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers west of Sadská and belongs to the Okres Nymburk .
geography
Velenka is located on Velenský potok on the East Bohemian Table. The Kersko forest extends east of the village. The D 11 / E 67 motorway passes in the south .
Neighboring towns are Semice and Kersko in the north, Hradištko in the north-east, Sadská in the east, Třebestovice in the south-east, Chrást in the south, Horky, Kounice and Týnice in the south-west, Bříství and Starý Vestec in the west and Přerov nad Labem in the north-west.
history
The first written mention of the village, which originally consisted of four salashes, took place in 1352. In 1437, Velenka came to the Poděbrady rule . In the 16th century, the village was attached to the royal chamberlain of Přerov nad Labem and after their sale in 1632, with the remaining parts of the chamberlain, Brandýs nad Labem was added.
After the abolition of patrimonial Velenky formed a municipality in the Český Brod district from 1850 . After the First World War, the Kerskowald became a popular recreational area for the Prague upper class. A holiday home area was built in the forest. Velenka has been part of Okres Nymburk since 1961. Between 1980 and 1990 the village was incorporated into Semice , after which the political municipality Velenka emerged again. Today the place consists of 123 houses.
