Písková Lhota (German Piskowa Lhota , 1939–45 Sand Lhota ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located four kilometers west of Poděbrady and belongs to the Okres Nymburk .
geography
Písková Lhota is located between the Výrovka and the Elbe by the Káča brook on the Bohemian Table. The D11 / European route 67 runs to the south , here is the exit 35 Poděbrady-západ. State road 38 between Nymburk and Kolín lies to the east and the Velim experimental ring to the southeast .
Neighboring towns are Kovanice in the north, Chvalovice and Velké Zboží in the northeast, Přední Lhota and Kluk in the east, Oseček and Sokoleč in the southeast, Vrbová Lhota in the south, Velké Chvalovice in the southwest, Kostelní Lhota in the west and Hořátev in the northwest.
history
The village was founded in 1351 when Boček I of Poděbrady received the Poděbrady rule . The settlers were allocated land that had to be settled within a set period.
After the abolition of patrimonial Písková Lhota formed a municipality in the Poděbrady district from 1850 . On May 9, 1923, President Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk visited the Memorial to the Victims of the First World War in Písková Lhota. Since 1961 the community belongs to Okres Nymburk.
