history

The first written mention of Straky was in 1323. At that time, the village largely belonged to Bartoš von Valečov. During the 14th century Straky was attached to the Dražice manor . After the relocation of the manor house, Straky belonged to the Benatek manor from 1526 . In the berní rula of 1654, 35 farms are shown for Straky. In the 18th century the village came to Loučeň . In 1713 there were 223 people living in Straky.

After the abolition of patrimonial Straky formed from 1850 with the districts Zbožíčko and Kačerov from 1850 a municipality in the Poděbrady district . To the north-west of the village, the Austro-Hungarian army established the military training area Milowitz with a firing range and a large training area on the site of the village of Mladá . The Milowitz prisoner of war camp was established there in 1914, where 46,000 prisoners of war were interned until it was closed in 1916. In 1920 Zbožíčko became an independent municipality. In 1934 Straky came to Okres Nymburk . After the German occupation, the Wehrmacht took over the Milowitz military training area in 1939 . This was taken over by the Czechoslovak army in 1945. The military area was occupied by the Soviets after the invasion of the Warsaw Pact states and from 1968 to 1991 there was a Soviet military training area near Milovice and the Boží Dar military airfield, which was built in the 1970s and whose airfield led over the place. Between 1980 and 1991 Zbožíčko was again incorporated. In 1996 the revitalization of the military area began. Straky today consists of 240 houses.
