Chroustov (German Chraustow ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located 17 kilometers south of Jičín and belongs to the Okres Nymburk .
geography
Chroustov is located in the southern foothills of the Jičínská pahorkatina on the Smíchovský creek. To the east lies the ridge of the Schlunitz Forest (Žlunické polesí) with the Na Kostele (298 m). In the northeast are the old tracks of the former narrow-gauge railway line from Kopidlno to Češov .
Neighboring towns are Slavhostice in the north, Žlunice in the northeast, Sekeřice in the east, Hlušice in the southeast, Dvoříště in the south, Kněžice and Dubečno in the southwest, Chotěšice in the west, Běchárky and Židovice in the northwest.
history
Chroustov was probably founded in the 12th century. The village was first mentioned in writing in 1369. The church has been documented since 1377. Emperor Sigismund pledged Chroustov to Havel von Dřevěnice in 1436. He was followed by Dietrich von Miletinek (Jetřich z Miletínka) from 1453. The Trčka von Lípa acquired the goods in 1553 and held them until 1587. After they were sold to the Waldsteiners , these Chroustov joined the Dymokury rule .
After the end of patrimonial Chroustov became an independent municipality in the Poděbrady district and in 1961 came to Okres Nymburk. In 1980 it was incorporated into Kněžice. Since 1990 Dvořiště, which was also incorporated into Kněžice since 1980, is a district of the municipality of Chroustov.
Community structure
The community Chroustov is divided into the districts Chroustov ( Chraustow ) and Dvoříště ( Dworzischt , 1939–45 Hofstatt ).
Attractions
- Baroque Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, which was built in the 14th century, was redesigned in the 18th century, and in 1890 the wooden bell tower next to the church was torn down.
