history

The first written mention of Dubečno took place in 1372 when Charles IV gave the Opatovice monastery a hoof of the village. From the place name it can be concluded that the place was created in an oak forest. In the course of its history, Dubečno, along with Osek and Dvoříště, has always been associated with Chroustov .

After the abolition of patrimonial Dubečno formed a municipality in the Poděbrady district from 1850 . At the beginning of 1961 Dubečno was incorporated into Kněžice and was also assigned to Okres Nymburk. In 1991 the place had 62 inhabitants. In 2001 the village consisted of 50 houses in which 34 people lived.
