history
An estate is said to have existed in Bobnice in 1353, which the Prague missionaries of St. Veit was administered. However, this information cannot be verified by sources. The first reliable evidence of Bobnice is found in a document dated December 14, 1413, in which the dean of the Church of St. Stephan in Litoměřice , Václav von Blahotice, together with his witness Bartoloměj von Litoměřice, declared that they had bought the village together with Sadová from the late Comtur Zdeňek of the Prague Johanniter Convent of the Virgin Mary. Later the village was hereditary leased to the city of Nymburk . After the uprising against the Habsburgs in 1547, the town's goods were confiscated and Bobnice was added to the Poděbrady rule . At that time the place consisted of a Kretscham and twelve properties. Since 1590 there was also a butcher in Bobnice. During the Thirty Years' War, the place was destroyed between 1631 and 1634 by Electoral Saxon troops. A village school was built in the first half of the 18th century. In 1740 the village consisted of eleven farmers, four cottagers and four residents.
After the abolition of patrimonial Bobnice formed from 1850 with the district Kovansko a political municipality in the Poděbrady district . In 1863 a Protestant school opened. In 1919 Kovansko formed its own municipality. In 1934 Bobnice came to Okres Nymburk , and in 1980 Kovansko was incorporated. In 2001 there were 612 people living in the Bobnice district.
