Vrbová Lhota (German Wrbowa Lhota , 1939–45 Weiden Lhota ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers southwest of Poděbrady and belongs to the Okres Nymburk .
geography
Vrbová Lhota is located on the right side of the Výrovka between the Káča ( Mühlbach ) and Ratenický potok on the Bohemian Table. The D11 / E 67 motorway runs to the north , where you will find exit 35 Poděbrady-západ. The Velim test ring touches the town to the east .
Neighboring towns are Písková Lhota in the north, Přední Lhota and Kluk in the northeast, Sokoleč in the southeast, Ratenice in the south, Pečky and Velké Chvalovice in the southwest, Milčice in the west and Kostelní Lhota in the northwest.
history
Vrbová Lhota was first mentioned in 1535 in a Profoss calculation for several villages near Sadská . According to a sourceless publication published in 1902, the first documentary evidence of Lhoty Wrbové is an import permit for Podiebrad beer from 1502, which was renewed in 1547. The place was parish after Kostelní Lhota and until after the battle of the White Mountain the population was utraquist. During the Thirty Years' War the inhabitants were harassed by imperial troops in 1620 and by the Electorate of Saxony and Sweden in 1630-1631 and 1634.
After the abolition of patrimonial Vrbová Lhota formed from 1850 a municipality in the Poděbrady district . In 1890, the creation of pine forests began on the sandy areas between Vrbová Lhota, Sokoleč and Písková Lhota . In 1900 the village consisted of 82 houses and had 477 inhabitants. There were just as many in 1910, including 119 evangelists. In 1961 the community came to Okres Nymburk. In 1966 Vrbová Lhota had 437 inhabitants, in 1971 there were 441. At the beginning of 1996 Vrbová Lhota came to Okres Kolín . Since 2007 the village belongs again to the Okres Nymburk.
