To the west rises the hill Chotuc ( Chotutz , 253 m), to the north the hill Kuncberk ( Kunstberg , 214 m). The railway runs through the village from Nymburk to Jičín or to Dymokury .

history
The village was first mentioned in writing in 1352 when a register of the Bohemian parish villages was being drawn up. The owners of the place were the lords of Valečov, who were followed by the Křinecký von Ronov until 1565 after the Hussite Wars. When the Kostomlatský of Vřesovice acquired the rule in 1568, Krzinetz was called a town. In 1575 Heinrich von Waldstein on Dobrovice became the owner of the Kunstberg estate.
The place was devastated during the Thirty Years War. Reconstruction began under the counts of Morzín, who acquired the Křinec estate in 1649. During her reign, the castle was built between 1649 and 1659, a hunting lodge in place of the desert Kunstberg Castle around 1670, the Church of St. Giles in 1680 and finally between 1714 and 1717 the Chapel of St. John of Nepomuk erected. Colonel Jakob von Wimmer acquired the rule of the Morzín in 1796 and sold it to the banker Moritz von Bethmann .
After the abolition of patrimonial Křinec formed a municipality in the Poděbrady district from 1850 . Franz Eduard Vonka founded a factory for processing protein, dextrin, starch and molasses in 1865. In 1881 the Bohemian Commercial Railways took the Welelib –Křinec– Kopidlno - Jičín and Křinec– Dymokury lines into operation. In 1934 the community came to Okres Nymburk . As a result of the Beneš decrees , the Bethmann family was expropriated in 1945. In 1948 Křinec sank to the village. In 1961 Zábrdovice was incorporated. In 1964 Bošín and 1975 Nové Zámky (with Mutínsko) were added. 1980 Mečíř and Sovenice were also incorporated. On April 12, 2007 Křinec received back the status of a minor town.
