Vestec (German Westetz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located ten kilometers northeast of Nymburk and belongs to the Okres Nymburk .
geography
Vestec is located on both sides of the Mrlina River on the East Bohemian Table. The Křinecká Blatnice flows west of the village and the Stará Šumborka brook to the east. In the southwest rises the summit Sokolec (193 m).
Neighboring towns are Křinec and Zábrdovice in the north, Svídnice and Cerna Hora in the Northeast, Dymokury and Činěves the east, Šumbor and Úmyslovice the southeast, Malý Vestec, Netřebice and Havransko in the south, Novy Dvur in the southwest, Oskořínek , Ronov and Hruby Jesenik Mountains to the west and Chaloupky, Leč and Podchotický Mlýn in the northwest.
history
The village was first mentioned in writing in 1383.
After the abolition of patrimonial Vesce formed from 1850 with the district Malé Vesce a municipality in the Poděbrady district . In 1934 she came to Okres Nymburk .
