history
Senice was founded in the 13th century on the bank of the Vyhlíd pond. The first written mention was made in 1383. At that time there was a festival in Senice. In 1579 a system of ponds was built west of the village and the Blato was expanded to become the largest pond in Bohemia. Its water surface was about a third larger than that of the Rosenberg pond . At the end of the 18th century, fish farming has been abandoned and amelioration pastures recovered from the swampy Blatowiesen in the 19th century.
After the abolition of patrimonial Senice formed from 1850 with the district Laubenthal and the Blatohof a municipality in the Poděbrady district . In 1868 a Protestant school opened in the village. During the Second World War, the three Czechoslovak parachutists Alfréd Bartoš, Josef Valčík and Jiří Potůček mistakenly landed near Senice on December 29, 1941, and they formed the Silver B group that was flown in to prepare for an assassination attempt on Reinhard Heydrich . On January 1, 1961, Senice came to Okres Nymburk. In 1970 it was incorporated into Okřínek , and the community has existed again since 1992.
