Hořany (German Horschan ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers southwest of Sadská and belongs to the Okres Nymburk .
geography
Hořany is located between the Šembera and Milčický potok valleys on the Bohemian Table. The Kouřimka hill (247 m) rises to the southwest. Several sand pits are operated northwest of the village. In the north runs the railway line from Prague to Kolín as well as the D 11 / European route 67 , where the next exit 25 Sadská is located .
Neighboring towns are Třebestovice and Vycherov in the north, Milčice in the north-east, Tatce in the east, Skramníky in the south-east, Žhery in the south, Lstiboř in the south-west, Klučov in the west and Poříčany and Černá Obora in the north-west.
history
The village was first mentioned in writing in 1282.
After the abolition of patrimonial Hořany formed a municipality in the Český Brod district from 1850 . In 1961 the community came to Okres Nymburk and in 1980 it was incorporated into Poříčany. The village of Hořany has existed again since 1990.
